What We Believe

God

We believe in the one living and true God who eternally exists in three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each fully God, sharing the same nature, attributes, and perfections.
(Matthew 28:18–19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3–4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

The Father

God the Father has always existed. He is both a supernatural, eternal being and a personal God who desires a relationship with His people. He is the Creator and Ruler of all things, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. At the same time, He is near—hearing our prayers and actively involved in our lives.
(Genesis 1:1; Psalm 89:26; Isaiah 9:6; John 6:27, 45–46; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 1:3; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 5:20)

The Son

Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life and confirmed His divine authority through His miracles and teachings. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. Three days later, He rose again, conquering sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will one day return to reign as Lord and King.
(Isaiah 53:3–12; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1–5; Ephesians 4:1–8; 1 John 5:20)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God’s presence with us today. He convicts the world of sin and points people to Jesus Christ. At the moment of salvation, He comes to live within every believer, giving us power for holy living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in what is right. He also produces His fruit in us as we walk with Him.
(John 14:16–17, 26; John 15:26; John 16:7–14; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; Galatians 5:18, 22–25)

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word for all people. Written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, it is completely true and trustworthy. It is our ultimate source of authority and the foundation for what we believe and how we live.
(John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5

The Church

The Church is made up of all believers who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Together we form the “Body of Christ,” with Jesus as the head. Our calling is to be a light in the darkness and to share the good news of the gospel with the world.
(Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 12:12–28; Ephesians 3:6, 4:11–16, 5:23)

Interdenominational Church

As an interdenominational church, we are blessed with a rich diversity of believers from many denominational backgrounds. Many have moved here—whether to their mountain dream home or ranch—and have found a Bible-believing, Christ-centered family in Yosemite Lakes Community Church.
We focus on the 90% of the faith we hold in common, as expressed in our statement of faith. When it comes to the 10% of secondary issues, we don’t let them divide us. Instead, we celebrate our diversity, love one another, and work side by side to share Christ with our community while standing firm on the essential truths we all share.
